What to Expect From On-Site X-Rays at Urgent Care
If you might have a fracture or need a chest image, on-site imaging can save time. Here is how visits usually flow and how to prepare.
Many sprains, strains, and suspected fractures can be evaluated with an X-ray during your urgent care visit. Having imaging in the same building means fewer referrals and less driving between facilities.
You will be asked about pregnancy possibility and metal implants, and you may need to remove jewelry or change into a gown if it overlaps the area being imaged.
A technologist positions the area and takes the images quickly. Results are often available in a short time so the clinician can discuss a splint, boot, referral, or follow-up plan with you.
X-rays use low-dose radiation. Your care team weighs benefits and risks and only orders studies when medically appropriate.
At Fast Med, we combine walk-in access with on-site X-rays to help you move from injury to answers in one stop when clinically indicated.
